A smartphone with a battery that can last up to 15 days ....
The Oukitel K10000 is crammed with a 10,000mAh battery, which should hold almost four times the charge of a Samsung Galaxy S6, and five and a half times the charge of the iPhone 6.A full charge takes about three and a half hours, according to Oukitel, a Chinese gadget maker.Smartphone software has gotten better at managing apps and programs to conserve battery life over the past few years, but not many manufacturers have upgraded battery capacity itself. The K10000 has a “super smart standby” mode, and “intelligent power consumption management,” and is the “world’s largest battery capacity smartphone,” the company claims. The phone can even be used to charge other devices. But even if its battery technology is as advanced as the company says it is, the rest of the phone’s specs are still stuck in the past — it’s not an iPhone competitor. At the moment, Gear Best is selling the device for $240 and shipping begins in January. The company says its battery will last two weeks with “normal use,” but a spokesman did not immediately respond to request for an explanation of what “normal use” means.Oukitel says it’s doing both.

Uduwe DhammalokaThera
The CID has verified that the statement made by Ven. Uduwe Dhammaloka Thera with regard to an elephant calf, is false.
The Thera had stated that he had kept and taken care of an elephant calf which was abandoned at his temple - the Alanmathiniyaramaya.
However, the statement of the mahout who had take care of the animal had contradicted with the Thera's statement. The mahout has said that the Thera had purchased the calf from 'Ali Roshan' and tasked him with its' care.
Lies
In this backdrop the recent statement made by the Thera is a joke and a lie, said a highly placed police official.
Noting that elephants are considered as a national treasure, the officer said it cannot be possessed and raised in a secretive manner even if a calf was abandoned at the temple gates in the manner mentioned by the Thera.
Also, the law does not allow a wild animal to be treated like a domesticated cat or dog, he added.
There is a legal procedure that needs to be completed if an elephant calf is held in this manner, and the Thera had overlooked this.
AG advice
With the statement of the mahout coming to light, legal redress is to be sought against Ven. Uduwe Dhammaloka Thera under the Wildlife ordinance.
All evidence pertaining to this case has been produced before the judiciary and after receiving all relevant dossiers, the Attorney General has directed to arrest the Thera. Also, a special probe has been initiated on seven other Buddhist monks linked to this elephant trafficking.
On a separate note, the CID recently seized the elephant calf that was purchased by Sajin Vass Gunawardena from the Ven. Kolonnawe Sumangala Thera of the Dewram Vehera.
Sri Lankan woman killed while family at work...
A killer is on the run after a Sri Lankan mother was found murdered alone in her home last night in Melbourne, Australia.
Police say it may have been a random attack, and are unsure of any possible motive, Australian media reported.
Investigators believe someone entered the 48-year-old Prasad Somawansa’s Hoppers Crossing home between 8pm and 9.25pm and attacked her.
Mrs Somawansa suffered “severe upper body trauma” and a family friend discovered her body, police said at a media conference today.
Emergency services were called to the Barber Street residence about 9.30pm.
Her 21-year-old SES volunteer son, Wish, learned of her death while out on a job.
“He’s obviously traumatised, as you can understand,” police said.
Her husband, a transport industry worker who was in Brisbane last night, had asked the family friend to check on his wife after phone calls he made to her were unanswered.
Both family members are speaking with police but neither are suspects, investigators said.
Mrs Somawansa has been described by neighbour’s as a quiet, loving and good woman.
The house was not ransacked, and police are checking whether anything was stolen.
Mrs Somawansa’s body was taken to the Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine for an autopsy.
Police have appealed for anyone who may have witnessed activity near the home to come forward.
Detective Senior Sergeant Bailey said the family had moved to Australia from Sri Lanka in 1999.
The 21-year-old son, who is also a medical student, was “traumatised” by the death, Detective Senior Sergeant Bailey said.

Jack didn't have to die in Titanic
Many fans have questioned Jack's death in the final moments of Titanic and now Kate Winslet, who played Rose in the romantic classic, has accepted that the character should have saved her lover's life.
Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate shot to fame after playing one of the most-loved on screen couples - Jack and Rose - in the 1997 blockbuster, set against the backdrop of Titanic tragedy. In the climax, as the ship sinks, Jack and Rose find a piece of wooden door floating. Jack helps Rose climb on it but it starts sinking when he tries to fit himself. He then decides to save Rose's life by staying in the cold water, eventually freezing to death.
The ending has bothered Titanic fans for nearly 20 years with some of them sharing a theory, saying that Jack could have actually shared the door without it sinking.
When TV host Jimmy Kimmel asked Kate about the theory, the actress said, "I agree! I think he could have actually fitted on that bit of door," reported Entertainment Weekly.
On screen couple DiCaprio and Winslet send fans in a tizzy whenever they share a frame.
The actors were recently seen hugging each other at the SAG Awards on Saturday, and their hug spawned a thousand "never let go" jokes.
"People are always so excited to see Leo and myself in the same space, which, you know, at the end of the day, that's so lovely, isn't it?" Kate told the show host.....

As the Rev. Dharmapala went to India, I went to Madamulana, said former president Mahinda Rajapaksha. He stated that in a Bodhi Puja at Suriyawewa. If there is security or not anyone cannot stop my temple worship. My people provide me the safety.
When we makin roads some people asked me why such a big roads. It is enough eight or ten feed width. Those are formed not for me, for our children and grandchildren. Cannot let the thing happen to Colombo, happen to Hambantota. When more factories open, number of vehicles in the road are also become increase. Therefore we develop the road system.
When I went to Miyenmar I saw very big eight tracked and ten tracked roads. But I didnt saw such amount of traffc as in Sri Lanka. They make those by thinking their future. I wanted to make a country for unborn.
We believe democracy. I do not stay any minute after knew that I lost from election. I quit there before the final result comes. That's why I have no shame to come in front of you. Rev. Dharmapala did a lot of service for this country. He said what he wanted to say. Some people at that time said thief for him. He disgusted and went to India. Today also India celibrates that day.
